Original WWII German Enlisted-man's Tunic Grouping
- Nice Collectors Starter piece -
THIS IS A NICE GROUPING - In great used condition
This is a nice Original German Army Enlisted-man's Tunic and gear. The tunic is original and period correct, it has several field repairs, with original period cloth and parts. This Tunic must have been damaged in the field and repairs were field made. Although the tunic has field repairs they are not noticeable from the outside. The tunic also had blacked out ink stamps indicating this tunic was used in a German movie studio after the war. The gear is original and correct, 1). Original German Trench Shovel with leather hanger frog, it has been used but is solid and in good condition. 2). Original German M98k Mauser Bayonet, very good example of a 1941 dated bayonet, maker marked "cof" (Famous Carl Eickhorn Blade Making firm of Solingen) Has one Waffen Amt on the back strap. Wooden handle look to be late war and were replaced at some time at wars end. Scabbard is nicely done but looks to be a reproduction, may want to replace with an original later. 3). German original WWII combat Y-straps, complete and in very good shape. Has RB#, nice display piece. 4). Two German WWII original period ammo pouches, nice shape, used and worn in some areas. One of the ammo poches is missing the securing ring and has one of the three leather straps for the top pouches torn at the knob. The other ammo pouch has two of the three securing top straps torn at the knob. The tears are not noticeable and don't distract from the display. 5). A period correct original canteen and cup. 5). Great original German army belt and buckle, great example with 20% of the original matte olive green combat paint intact, the leather belt and tab is in excellent condition. Nice sharp period correct original German army issued belt.
The tunic itself is period correct and original, with field repairs and German movie studio use after the war. The field gear is period original and correct as described. This is a nice grouping for a new collector or for the collector missing the enlisted mans display.
