Original American Indian War - U.S. 1884 Army Grouping

THIS IS A NICE INDIAN WAR GROUPING - In great period used condition

This is an all Original American Indian War Grouping. The grouping includes: 1). Original U.S. Army 1884 pattern five button field blouse, wool coat with gray lining and US eagle buttons, great shape. 2). Original M1872 Indian War U.S. Kepi/Forage Cap, the insignia is crossed sabers "cavalry" and original to the cap. The inside of the cap is in great shape for it's age, missing the makers tags. The kepi is original and period correct. 3). Original U.S. canvas covered ca.1870s Army round canteen, with markings. 4). Original Indian War - US Army Cavalry Model 1876 Prairie Cartridge Belt for the US M1873 Trapdoor .45-70 Rifle. nice belt. 5). 1870's Indian War "Day & Night" signal service binoculars. Missing the strap but nice pair of binoculars. 6). Original 1880s U.S. Army Indian War picture of a young soldier with a nice old original frame.

Note - "THE U.S. KEPI - IS NOT A CIVIL WAR KEPI" In the 1980s bad collectors would remove tags from early Indian War Kepi's and then try and pass them off as Civil War kepi's. Average Original Civil War US Kepi 's are worth around $5,000.00, Original Indian Wars US Kepi 's average worth around $800.00. Confederate Kepi's even more up in the $15,000.00 average. This is a 1870s U.S. Army Kepi.

This all original American Indian War grouping is a fantastic looking display. The grouping would be a great add to any nice collection or museum.
