Original WWI 4th Division Artillery Officers Battle Uniform

- U.S. WWI 4th Infantry Division "Steadfast and Loyal" -

THIS IS A RARE GROUPING - In great used condition

This is a WW I  4th Division Artillery ID'd Officer Battle Uniform Grouping of "Capt. H.S. Clarke / 16th F.A,", all original period correct. Grouping includes the following: His officer summer 1912 battle uniform, issued khaki cotton tunic and breeches. Tunic has real nice "U.S." collar devices, on each collar. Two nice silver "false embroidered" pinback Captain bars on his shoulders. A real nice applied construction type 4th Division shoulder insignia with 3rd Army rounded in the center of the ivy leaves, nice looking patch. The tunic is in good shape with a couple of small repairs and small mouse holes. Overall a great original battle worn tunic, period correct and complete. The grouping includes matching summer khaki breeches with several repairs, wear holes and couple of small tears. This uniform was definitely war used and has that been there look and feel to it. Included is his leather leggings in great battlefield used condition. His 4th division painted helmet. His all ORIGINAL helmet is a British Brodie manufactured by (Hadfield Ltd. of Sheffield) "HS" manufactures mark. This all steel British made "Brodie" helmet was supplied to the US Army in great numbers. The United States needed helmets for the war effort so they purchased some 400,000 Brodie helmets in January 1918 from Britain for deployment. This helmet is all original with all original paint, and with the 4th Division Ivy Leaves painted on the front, period applied. The interior lining is oilcloth and leather. The chinstrap is brown leather but has broke. The field gear includes U.S. made canteen by "AGMCo" dated "1918", canteen cover by "M.&C. CO." dated "1918", WWI web belt, WWI first aid case, WWI 1911 leather holster by "R.O.M." dated "1917", WWI 1911 magazine pouch by "Mills" dated "1918"  his web belt suspenders by "Russell" dated "1918".

Overall this is a fantastic original battle used grouping, that took part in "The Great War" and part of the historical 4th Division. These original WWI Officer battle uniform groupings are getting harder to find in this type condition, they are getting more rare yearly. This would make a great addition to any fine collection or museum.

NOTE: THE MANNEQUIN IS FOR DISPLAY ONLY AND NOT PART OF THE GROUP
