Original WWI 3rd Division Machine Gunners Battle Uniform

- U.S. WWI 3rd Division "The Rock of Marne" -

THIS IS A RARE ID'D GROUPING - In great used condition

This is a WW I 3rd Division, 8th Machine Gun Battalion, Co. 'A', Grouping, ID'd Battle Uniform to Machine Gunner "Corporal Lester D. Sager - all original period correct. Grouping includes the following: His Corporal Battle Uniform, issued wool tunic and breeches. Tunic has two real nice collar devices, right side nice "U.S." and his left collar "MG".  A nice appealing white fabric on bark blue silk 3rd Division shoulder sleeve insignia, has a small worn spot on the upper left corner revealing the paper stiffener within, original and period correct. His sleeve has the honorable discharge chevron and two service chevrons. His original Corporal Chevrons were taken off by him and placed in a shadow box for display, with a picture of him (I believe he is the one in the front sitting down), his pals, his original battle dog tags, his 3rd Division pledge certificate, pay record, and service metal. Service metal retains his battles: "AISNE-MARNE", "ST. MIHIEL", "MEUSE-ARGONNE", "DEFENSIVE SECTOR", this guy was in some real hard fought battles. The tunic is in great shape with a couple of small moth holes. Overall a great original battle worn tunic, period correct and complete. The grouping includes his matching wool breeches with wear holes and couple of small moth holes. This uniform was definitely war used and has that battle feeling. Grouping also includes his WWI ID round style dog tags, two sets with his name, US M1917 helmet "YJ 136" rare helmet, Gas mask bag marked "US", 1911 web belt, 1911 leather holster marked "Warren Leather Goods Co." Dated "1918", 1911 magazine pouch, U.S. Shovel marked "U.S.", shovel cover marked "A.E.L. Co." dated "8-18", US pack marked "Perkins" dated "1-18", Canteen marked "US AGMCo" dated "1918" inscribed "FRANCE JUNE 19 1919 and "USA with US Flag", Canteen Cup marked "US AGMCo" dated "1918", his pocket machine gun distance and targeting book. His leggings, his Third Division Book, "1917 United States Army 1919" needs repair on bindings. Service cap, pay records, gas mask directions card, and personal letters. Wow lots there.

This is a fantastic original battle used grouping, machine gunner that was in the thick of it. He took part in a lot of major battles as shown on his service metal. If you want a real battle worn and used uniform from "The Great War" and part of the historical great 3th Division, this is your grouping. These original WWI battle uniform groupings are getting imposable to find in this great shape, and with this providence. A rare and exciting find for collectors adding to existing collections or starting a new premium collection. This would make a great addition to any fine collection or museum.

NOTE: THE MANNEQUIN IS FOR DISPLAY ONLY AND NOT PART OF THE GROUP
