THIS IS A NICE SUN HELMET- In great period used condition

This is an all Original WWII Japanese Bamboo "Sun" Helmet. Made out of bamboo, these were made in the tropical regions where bamboo was plentiful and perhaps this led to this pattern as a last ditch helmet at the end of the war. It is true that these helmets are generally uncommon and when encountered tend to be in good condition. This was likely a garrison type headgear in the Pacific islands of operations for the Japanese, and most likely did not see much combat, but would have been in the Japanese theater of operations. The ones that are out there, were brought back by returning US Soldiers after the war, reasonable showing that they must have been at the front. This is a fine example of a WWII Japanese bamboo "Sun" helmet. Made of bamboo with a cloth chinstrap.
